Love the new look, well done.

Are you looking forward to the Olympics starting?

I only got into athletics and every other sport when I moved down here to Stockton as my husband is a proper sporting enthusiast. I can now tell him the 'Offside Rule' when it comes to football...oh yes I can!

This humidity has been killing me this last week and today was a bit of a downer too, but you just have to get on with it as they say.

I'll email the others and see if we can get using this forum more

Glad you like it Sue, Ive been supporting this software for a couple of years on another site so it's easier to deal with.

I am looking forward to the Olympics, I like things that have a short finite life.

Do you think I should start a thread in which we can discuss the olympics?

Back at last, you may find I go AWOL quite often but I will get back eventually.

I don't know if the Olympics is everybody's cup of tea but anything is worth a try don't you think?

Be fun discussing how the papers have got it wrong again on their predictions of gold medals. I saw on the news the other day by the 2012 Olympics, Britain hopes to finish 4th in the table as that's how good they think the athletes will be.

Wonder if anybody told the athlete's!

I just watched the Tour De France a few weeks ago and I loved it. Can't believe how those cyclists can constantly keep up those kind of speeds. It's great watching the team tactics, and how they have the energy at the end for those sprints is just amazing. Our Mark Cavendish is brilliant and I'm so looking forward to watching the cycling in the dome in Beijing as we are sure to win some golds there for sure. Best thing they ever done building that dome in Manchester for the Commonwealth games.

OK I'll start an Olympics thread.

Did you see the humour thread? ;D ;D ;D

I did see your humour thread and thought that was a good idea too as the amount of jokes that come to me by email could be sent to the site.

Off to watch the opening ceremony

Well nice to see Tracy and Rob here at last, there is a rumour that Julie will join us soon and then there will be three women talking about Rob -  but hopefully not in the Olympics section - it will go to his head ;D ;D ;D

Oh Neil

We have much nicer athletic hunks than Rob in our group. He is an amateur really and still has a lot to learn so it would be a long time before he makes the Olympics...yip even at your age Rob, there is room for improvement  ::) ::)

Julie... come on, you surely must agree....get it off your chest girl and get those fingers rattling on the keyboard, it's so easy.

Hi Sue and Neil

I'm getting worried now about Rob, I've had 5 emails off him today but he hasn't showed his face on here to me yet, I think I will send him a text to wake him up.
Have I done this write tonight Neil, I was putting my  messages in the wrong place, well we can't all be correct all the time, it wouldn't be me if I didn't get things wrong, ask Rob.

Hi Sue,
Hope your having a good weekend, i'm having a boring day today, I've been sat watching the rowing finals, and I|'ve moved onto the cycling now, it's the medals ceromony.
I sent Rob a text to come on here, he was babysitting the dog, so I'm not sure if he's been on here since I have.
I think I'd better go and have a nap, feeling like I've done ten rounds with Mike Tyson today, think it was my injection reacting.
Have a good weekend all

Hi Tracy

Nice to hear from you again.

I have been watching the cycling and the rest of the days events at the Olympics in between housework and ironing. I do enjoy it. (The Olympics not the other!)

I have been kept busy all day really and this is the first time I have been on. There is noubt but rubbish on the TV on a Saturday night I find, so after this I'll be playing Majong.

I was working on our groups monthly bulletin most of the afternoon. Just a few pages left to do and I'll be finished. (Hope your reading this Neil) He always sends me a little love note every month demanding a copy as I forget to forward it on to him for the web site....sorry Neil

I managed out on my scooter for an hour this morning, it was nice to get out for a change of scenery round where I live. The local Friday night teenagers left a large plastic barrier and smashed bottles all over the cycle pathway where I ride. Luckily a very large chap was walking his labradors behind me and lifted the barrier out the way otherwise I would have been stuck. As for riding over the glass, I just keep my fingers crossed I don't get a puncture.

Sorry to hear you have been out of sorts today. Are you on the Interferon injections or Copaxone by any chance? If you are do you find them beneficial in the fact that it has made your attacks less frequent?

I don't think Rob has access to his PC with him staying where the dog is at the moment. I'm sure once he does get on here we won't get a word in edge ways as you will no doubt know!

Take Care
Susan

I saw Rob at the Thursday drop in and told him his ears should be burning so I think he's saving up his fire until he can get back online - beware girls ;D ;D

I was also thinking about takng my laptop to this drop in as I have a local copy of the forum running on it it so I could give some training to people as to how to use it and get the best out of it.  What do you think?

I think it would be a good idea for people to be shown how the set up works Neil.

It might just encourage a lot more to get on here if they see how easy it is, and of course, would give us women some more ammunition to shoot at apart from you know who.

It's getting like Harry Potter...don't mention *** ******   >:D >:D

I did notice the joke Ian posted and glad we have another male on-board the site for us women to tease.

I've just thought...aren't there supposed to be more women with MS than men, and yet this web site is being dominated by the male species at the moment!

This cannot be right Tracy, we cannot let this go on surely. I'm sure I will have my moral support back with me sometime soon and then we at least can take you all on ;D ;D

Now...I wonder is this the Ian from Billingham or is this the Ian from Norton? Come on...show yourself and reveal all

Hi Sue / Tracy etc etc.
My ears are big but no steam coming out of them, however I used to be good at smoldering and have been known to burst into flames, however my youth has passed me by along with my smoldering, I'm only any good now with innuendos, Linda keeps me in check, when she can.

Thats all for now see anyone on Tuesday (tommorrow), at the MS Group thingy

TRACY when are you coming up North again? and I will take you to the MS Group, and introduce you to people you probably don't want to know

Huh...how slow are you Rob, you have only just found that out???? You should see the length of my emails to my friends, that is nothing in comparison.

I am a trained typist so can run these things up in mins where as you will be of the two fingered majority. (and knowing you that commnet will be taken completely out of context!)

Won't be there tomorrow I'm afraid but do try and do better at the quiz. Don't give Dave the opportunity to gloat like last week where he nearly caught us up!

Here am I on talking to myself again which only shows how bored I am with all this miserable weather. The good thing is I can share all my meanderings with you lot while I am doing it. Aren't you all lucky!

I have been enjoying your jokes Ian, so keep them coming, just what we all need, cheering up on days like this.

Haven't seen you for sooooo long, do you still go to Thornaby?

Hey Dave glad you made it in here and you are in the right place too!

We will be at the drop in today Thursday 18th and the following Thursday then we go on our jaunt!  I hope you got some sleep last night.  I had a few G & T's at Carol & Daves last night as we have to swap the busses around after we drop everyone off so I slept like a log.

Have a good look around the place here and feel free to post as feel appropriate.  The humour section is quite fun ;D

All of these nasty comments about me, I'll sought out your phsyio partner ( is it male or female), been to the Thursday MS Group, same as the Tuesday MS Group but on a different dayand different people apart from Ron who goes on a Tuesday as well, they are a good group on a Thursday even though quieter than the Tuesday crowd.  They have a different physio person than the Tuesday Lady, on Thursday she does things with little dogs "shiatsu" or something I hink its the little dogs that ladies carry around in their handbags.

will speak again soon

Ohhhhh Mr Rob T......I feel a threat of blackmail coming over me for all those rude comments that has been said about a fellow female friend of mine with the same name. (Thought it quite funny mind)

May I say the only reason it is quieter on a Thursday is because someone puts a gag over your mouth as they have all had enough of listening to you on the Tuesday. Also there would be no biscuits or cakes left if your mouth was left free to open and shut on both days.

I know it looks funny to any new members who may arrive, but I'm sure you are now a bit of an added attraction to the group after all this time. It's just when you keep hinting to get tied up too that makes us all think that you really may be enjoying this...Weird I know!

I thought seeing nobody has been brave enough to leave a comment here for a while I'd throw a spanner in the works and try get us all chatting.

Now, what's the most favorite topic I thought to myself that everybody talks about. Some may think it's all about footie but I'm sorry 'CHAPS' I'm afraid not....It's the good old British Weather.

Now where the majority of us with MS really do enjoy this cold, snow and hail that we have seen this past few days, unfortunately there are some who just can't handle it and would rather live abroad in the lovely sunshine and hot weather.

I always remember when I was at physio. I found just the exertion used to warm me up that much that fatigue would come on making me useless. They would open the doors in the dept or put my hands in a bowl of cold water up to my wrists to try and cool me down and give me long breaks in between the exercises.

When two of the physio therapists got talking about my situation, one of them who made home visits said she used to go to a chap who was the complete opposite of me. When he got cold he would be almost physically sick but when he was warm he was well in himself and on top of the world.

Strange, as you would think having the same condition we would all be very similar wouldn't you?

So my question is....do you prefer the cooler weather so you feel comfortable and well or are you one of the lucky ones that looks forward to the summer heat and high temperatures?

Post your comments here

A very good point Sue, we always chat about the weather - all my foreign friends now expect of me as a way of starting a conversation ;D

Up until a few years ago I loved the heat, it could never be too hot for me, I was a real sun worshipper and I hated the cold.

As I've hit 50 (maybe it's because of the middle age spread) I'm less attracted to beach holidays but I still long for the sunshine; sufficient heat to wander around in shorts and teeshirts.  I still HATE the cold.
I would love to live in the South of France even though they can have cold winters, their summers are better than ours (as is the food).  We've been goping to Menton on the cote D'Azur for years, it's the last town on the French side before Italy and we both love it.  I wish we could afford to have an appartment there.

Would anyone else like to live somewhere else?
